“Inside Out” reflects the unfolding of a higher self. The figure is suspended between concealment and revelation and this piece holds the moment when what has been cultivated within begins to announce itself outwardly. The suit acts as both adornment and declaration, drawing on the understanding that, within many African traditions, dress does more than decorate; it carries presence, intention, status, and spiritual force. Here, clothing becomes a vessel for alignment, an external expression of inner power, desire, and becoming. The figure stands focused, radiant, and self-possessed, while the collaged text woven through the garment builds a quiet language of affirmation: mastery, possibility, excellence, celebration. Behind her, gold rays mark emergence, illumination, and the inner life made visible. This piece also incorporates repurposed paint: acrylic that dried on the palette and was later reused to create the gold accessories within the work.
